A OpenText Case Study
Rompetrol Group is a multinational oil company operating across 13 countries with a large downstream retail presence in Romania (about 350 stations). The company struggled with incomplete process visibility, frequent human errors, and significant financial losses—exacerbated by an earlier, unreliable BPM platform that crashed under mission‑critical loads—so it sought a stable, scalable solution to integrate applications with human tasks and improve control over order, inventory and delivery processes.
Rompetrol deployed OpenText MBPM together with OpenText ProVision (with local partner BPM Wave) and integrated the platform with systems like Oracle ERP, Documentum and station‑level apps. Key processes—sales order handling, fuel and dry‑product operations, fuel supply, invoicing and franchise compensation—were automated, producing measurable gains: sales‑order losses fell from 8% to under 1% monthly, order processing speed rose ~50% and validation time dropped from 90 to 60 minutes, human errors were eliminated in several processes, manual fuel‑delivery work dropped >70%, real‑time inventory monitoring and fraud detection were enabled, and payroll costs were reduced by over €500,000/month.
