Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus selects high-performance data storage technologies for a modern hospital

Robert-Bosch Krankenhaus (RBK) needed a reliable, auditable backup, restore, and storage solution to protect about 220 TB of production data across mirrored systems while meeting strict hospital archiving and recovery requirements. After an in-depth market analysis, OpenText was selected with Data Protector as the central data management software, alongside partner Bükotec to support the project.

OpenText implemented a backup and restore infrastructure that was first validated through an on-site proof of concept and then expanded into production within six months. The solution improved automation, standardized processes, reduced backup windows, and enabled restores in minutes; it also cut storage costs through deduplication and boosted performance, with radiology image load times dropping from 20 seconds to 2 seconds.
