Renesas and OpenText Optimize Network Experience

Renesas, a global leader in microcontrollers and semiconductor solutions, struggled with geographically dispersed engineering teams and a growing number of small satellite servers. The decentralized setup led to insufficient server capacity, heavy X‑protocol network traffic, slow response times for design tools, and a rising operational management burden that hindered productivity.

Renesas consolidated servers into three core centers and deployed OpenText Exceed onDemand with its Thin X Protocol, dramatically reducing network traffic and enabling thin‑client access. The change cut costs and admin overhead, increased concurrent users (from roughly 10 to about 100), improved design speed and quality, and added resilience with a Suspend Disconnected Session feature that preserves work during outages.
