Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) is a Manitoba-based full‑service law firm founded in 1887 with 10 offices and more than 130 years of client work. The firm struggled with scattered document repositories and time‑consuming searches—individual lawyers kept their own folders on shared drives—making it hard to find precedents, manage emails, and present a modern technology profile to clients and recruits.

TDS implemented OpenText eDOCS Document Management and Email Filing (with partner ADV) to centralize content for more than 215 users, scan legacy paper files, and add FlexFolders for personalized views. The solution reduced paper handling, sped document and email retrieval, boosted attorney and staff productivity, enhanced client service, and helped attract new business and hires; TDS is now preparing a cloud migration and mobile access for continued improvement.
