A OpenText Case Study
Qlik, a Radnor, PA–based provider of data visualization and analytics used by about 48,000 customers, faced growing risks from its 2,000+ flexible workforce who worked across multiple devices and relied on USB drives and consumer cloud services to back up and share corporate files. This ad-hoc approach led to lost data when drives failed, slow, labor-intensive recoveries, unmanaged sharing that threatened compliance, and rising IT strain as the company and data volumes expanded.
Qlik deployed Micro Focus Connected Backup and then upgraded to Connected MX to deliver automatic, policy-driven continuous backup plus secure file sync-and-share across devices. The solution enabled self-service restores, centralized policies and reporting, and 256-bit encryption, cutting help-desk tickets to zero, speeding restores (in some cases reducing backups from 5 hours to 15 minutes), and giving IT control over sharing and compliance without sacrificing user productivity.
