A OpenText Case Study
A global Life Sciences pharmaceutical manufacturer with more than $2.1 billion in 2017 sales faced costly, resource‑intensive annual PCI compliance audits because many of the 10,000+ product purchase orders it received contained credit card data. The company needed a partner that could inspect each PO for payment information, work with its existing tokenization provider and ordering system, and prevent card data from entering its sales order environment without adding new infrastructure.
OpenText Alloy now intercepts and interrogates every purchase order, routing POs without card data straight to the company and sending those with card details to the tokenization provider, then returning a tokenized PO for processing. Because Alloy is a PCI‑compliant environment and assumes ongoing compliance responsibility, the manufacturer eliminated the need for its own annual PCI audits, saved thousands annually, integrated existing systems, improved staff utilization, and streamlined PO processing.
