Pharmaceutical company enables touchless invoice processing with workflow automation from OpenText and Muraai

Lupin, a global pharmaceutical company, struggled with paper-based supplier invoices at its manufacturing plants, which led to slow processing, lost documents, and limited visibility across the end-to-end accounts payable process. To address these challenges, Lupin worked with OpenText and its partner Muraai to support a finance shared service center and handle more than 300,000 invoices a year using OpenText AppWorks, OpenText Capture, and OpenText Extended ECM Platform.

OpenText helped Lupin implement the SIMS solution with automated, transparent workflows that can ingest invoices in any format and use OCR to capture paper invoices accurately. As a result, Lupin now processes 25% of goods invoices with zero human involvement, has improved invoice cycle times and supplier visibility, and can support audits with secure remote access—while also better managing complex requirements such as India’s GST.
