A OpenText Case Study
Palm Beach County School Board, the 11th-largest U.S. school district with 185 schools serving more than 183,000 students, was struggling with a paper‑intensive accounts payable process that handled roughly 175,000 invoices a year. Faced with budget cuts and costly offsite storage and lengthy audit retrievals, the district needed an automated solution that would integrate with its Oracle PeopleSoft system and reduce manual handling and record‑keeping overhead.
Working with partner Informa Software, the district deployed OpenText Capture Center to capture, classify and extract invoice data (OCR/ICR/IDR) and route documents into PeopleSoft via a customized workflow and email portals. The automation cut invoice touchpoints, enabled processing of more invoices per day with roughly half the staff, eliminated paper storage, improved visibility and compliance, and allowed the district to reduce AP headcount while speeding payments and audits.
