A OpenText Case Study
Kommunales Rechenzentrum Minden-Ravensburg/Lippe (KRZ) is the municipal IT service provider for three districts and 34 towns, responsible for developing and running municipal systems on behalf of local authorities. Facing pressure to cut costs, improve transparency and replace slow paper-based workflows across multiple locations, KRZ needed a scalable, auditable way to justify investments and streamline processes like invoice approval and citizen services.
KRZ implemented the OpenText MBPM platform across ~30 clients and 3,500 users, handling hundreds of thousands of processes annually. The digital invoice workflow reduced processing time by 25% and cut costs by about 25%, implementation effort for new solutions fell up to 30%, and role-based access improved transparency and security; the platform also enabled online citizen services (e.g., daycare fee calculations) and earned KRZ a digital transformation award.
