A OpenText Case Study
Vancity has relied on OpenText Operations Manager (OM) since 1999 to monitor faults and performance, and later expanded to OpenText OMi to unify data from multiple monitoring tools. As its infrastructure modernized and server counts grew, Vancity needed a single way to manage increasingly complex systems, eliminate monitoring silos, and improve visibility across the environment.
OpenText OMi was implemented as a manager of managers, federating data from OpenText and third-party tools into unified dashboards with event correlation and analytics. The results were significant: daily events dropped by 93%, tickets fell by 50%, root-cause identification became 70% faster, and IT staff saved about $50,000 per year. OpenText also helped Vancity adopt “write once, deploy anywhere” management templates, simplifying change management and supporting a smoother infrastructure transformation.
