Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP) is one of the largest privately held emergency care providers in the U.S., with 1,200 physicians at 80 sites. Facing a dispersed, on-the-go workforce and a small IT team, EMP needed reliable, anytime/anywhere access to portal tools and administrative functions on physicians’ preferred mobile devices while keeping pace with a rapidly changing mobile market.

EMP deployed the OpenText Mobile Wave Platform to extend its MyPulse intranet into native mobile apps across iOS, Android and BlackBerry, using a single development effort to target multiple devices. Six core apps were delivered in about two months, driving rapid adoption (roughly 80% in the initial beta), increased portal usage, improved documentation and physician productivity, cost savings, and stronger recruitment.
