OpenText Migrate instrumental in platform and support consolidation resulting in 50% cost savings and 25% reduced power consumption

Western Washington University needed to cut IT costs and improve sustainability while migrating a large, diverse server environment from VMware/Nutanix to Microsoft Azure Stack HCI. With more than 400 virtual machines and over 250 workloads to move, the university wanted a low-risk approach with minimal disruption, and turned to OpenText Migrate for help.

OpenText provided Migrate and professional services support to orchestrate the migration of about 120 TB of workloads, including Linux, Windows, databases, web servers, and containerized applications. The result was a 20% reduction in virtualization hosts, 25% lower power consumption, and more than 50% savings in licensing costs, while many workloads were restored in about 15 minutes with little to no service impact.
