DATEV eG needed a more flexible, scalable approach to application security as its complex on-premises infrastructure grew harder to maintain and support across 2,000+ developers. Working with OpenText and using Fortify, DATEV also aimed to strengthen static code scanning, support hybrid cloud deployment, and prepare for secure development in AWS and Azure.

OpenText helped DATEV migrate from Fortify on-premises to Fortify Hosted and integrate it into the CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins, GitLab, and Azure DevOps. DATEV also adopted Fortify DAST to simplify security testing in one interface. The result was lower complexity, faster issue fixing, and a marked reduction in vulnerabilities confirmed by penetration tests, allowing teams to spend more time on new features and less on bug fixing.
