Opentext Extended ECM For SAP® Solutions Provides Mobility And Standardization To Improve Customer Service

Alliander N.V., a Dutch utilities operator serving 5.7 million connections, faced growing procurement complexity as the energy market and supplier base expanded. Purchasing teams worked with nearly 2,000 suppliers and thousands of documents each month but had to leave SAP to search OpenText Content Server for unstructured documents, causing delays, errors, limited mobility and inconsistent use of templates—hindering efficiency, compliance and supplier service.

To address this, Alliander deployed OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions with Delaware Consulting, using a largely out-of-the-box approach to integrate unstructured content directly into the SAP context. More than 100 users (about 60 in purchasing) now access all order- and supplier-related documents from within SAP, speeding processes, improving transparency and template control, reducing errors and compliance risk, and providing a scalable, mobile-ready foundation for future initiatives like large-scale smart‑meter rollouts.
