Enkla Elbolaget (formerly Norsk Hydro Energi) is a Swedish electricity wholesaler serving about 70,000 residential and 4,000 business customers in a highly deregulated, competitive market. After rebranding in 2008 the company needed to differentiate itself by becoming the easiest provider to do business with—simplifying confusing, manual billing processes, reducing paper and aligning invoices and communications with its transparent brand promise.

Enkla Elbolaget implemented OpenText Exstream (integrated with Microsoft Dynamics AX, Xellent and an in‑house document engine) plus StoryBoard, ReTouch and Collector to automate, personalize and channel invoices as email/PDF, web or printed back‑fold mail, and to offer a customer “My Portal” and iPhone app. The solution delivered consistent, easy‑to‑understand invoices, cut paper use and manual work, reduced support calls, improved customer service and loyalty, and lowered costs.
