Unum UK, part of The Unum Group and a market-leading provider of workplace insurance, insures 1.4 million lives in the UK and helps serve 20 million customers globally. Producing around 100,000 complex, multi-page customer documents a year, the business needed to increase personalization without losing content control—previously relying on labor-intensive manual edits that slowed production and introduced risk.

Unum implemented OpenText Exstream LiveEditor for controlled editing and added Exstream Engine as a Web Service and High-Volume Delivery to its Exstream environment. The solution automated editing workflows, reduced custom code and template count, and made Exstream the single composition platform—resulting in about a fivefold increase in document production efficiency, lower IT complexity, and greater agility for change.
