OpenText Exceed TurboX provides high performance graphical remote application access, increasing productivity

Virginia Tech, a major research university with more than 33,000 students and a $504M research portfolio, faced barriers getting researchers and non-technical students to use high performance computing (HPC). Accessing graphical apps like MATLAB typically required SSH and local installs on low-powered laptops, forcing large data transfers that strained campus bandwidth and generated many help-desk requests.

The university deployed OpenText Exceed TurboX to provide browser-based, single-click access to centrally hosted applications and data, plus centrally managed profiles and session suspension. The result: responsive, real-time visualizations on any device, reduced network traffic because data stays in the datacenter, fewer support calls, simpler administration and reporting, and higher user productivity.
