KUKA Roboter GmbH, a leading manufacturer of industrial robots and automation solutions serving the automotive and other industries, faced slow, paper-based contract processes that increased reactive work, risked missed deadlines and higher costs, and put pressure on Strategic Purchasing. Long search times and poor transparency—typically around 30 minutes to find a contract—made active supplier and order management difficult.

KUKA implemented OpenText Extended ECM for SAP® Solutions in March 2015 to digitize contract management and integrate contract data with SAP. About 30 users have created more than 13,000 digital contract records with automated alerts, master‑data updates and full‑text search; search times dropped to 30 seconds, contract management time and costs fell, transparency improved, and the company is rolling the solution out internationally.
