Case Study: People’s United Bank achieves unified multi-brand websites, empowered content management and $1M+ ROI with OpenText

A OpenText Case Study

Preview of the People's United Bank Case Study

Opentext Enables Multi-Bank Branding And User-Friendly Content Management

People’s United Bank, a 165‑year‑old regional bank in New England, underwent rapid growth that expanded its web presence from 3 to 11 differently branded sites in a year. That proliferation created inconsistent branding, fragmented publishing processes and many new content owners who lacked easy, secure ways to edit and publish content—so the bank needed a fast, scalable solution that reduced costs and supported future acquisitions.

Working with Xpediant, People’s United implemented the OpenText suite (Web Experience Management, Portal, Portal Builder, Dynamic Portal Module and Business Integration Studio) to unify branding, enable self‑service content management and reuse content across sites. The rollout delivered 11 live sites with 4,000 new pages, 40 non‑technical content owners, 3 million monthly page views, a 70% performance improvement, $1M in consolidation savings plus $400K in license savings, and a hard‑dollar ROI within 18 months.
