OpenText Delivers New Efficiencies for The Scottish Funding Council

The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) is the national body that funds Scotland’s colleges and universities and manages complex documentation and audit trails for funding allocations. Facing budget constraints and an aging IT stack—GroupWise email, Office 2003 and Livelink 9.7.1—SFC needed to modernize desktops, remove custom integrations and improve information retrieval and mobile efficiency without disrupting business operations.

SFC staged a migration to Microsoft Office 2010, Outlook and OpenText Content Server 10, deploying OpenText Enterprise Connect and working with OpenText Global Services for a smooth rollout. The upgrade eliminated bespoke GroupWise code, delivered faster faceted search and seamless Office/Outlook integration, required little user training, supported virtualization and BPM improvements, and enabled new extranets and better collaboration.
