OpenText Archiving Solution Enables Leading Retail Company to Manage Explosive Data Growth

Future Group, India’s largest home‑grown retail conglomerate with over 300 million annual footfalls and more than 70 million sq. ft. of retail space, faced explosive SAP data growth that pushed its database beyond 11 TB and accumulated more than 4.5 million material articles. This volume strained indexing, search and retrieval, degraded system performance, and created legal, compliance and storage‑management challenges.

To address this, Future Group implemented OpenText Archiving for SAP Solutions (with implementation partner Arteria) to migrate and centrally manage content while integrating with SAP ECC 5.0. The project made archived files searchable and manageable, reclaimed roughly 4.8 TB of disk space, produced a leaner SAP database, reduced hardware costs, improved system performance and strengthened compliance and retention capabilities.
