Office of Attorney General in Bogotá builds trusted judicial police service

The Office of the Attorney General’s Technical Investigations Group (CTI) in Bogotá handles digital forensics for high‑profile criminal cases across Colombia. Confronted with rapidly increasing caseloads and a wave of cyber‑enabled crimes, CTI needed to enforce forensic best practices (confidentiality, integrity, availability), speed evidence collection and analysis, and train investigators nationwide.

CTI adopted OpenText EnCase Forensic and implemented a comprehensive training and protocol program, including pursuit of EnCE certification. As a result, evidence collection and processing accelerated, case backlogs fell, roughly 100 staff were trained and licensed across 23 offices, nine EnCE‑certified experts now serve as preferred expert witnesses, and investigative success and trust in CTI’s judicial police services significantly improved.
