A OpenText Case Study
Sauter Group needed to consolidate two separate IT environments and make applications, users, and resources work seamlessly across Microsoft Active Directory and eDirectory systems. Working with OpenText and its OpenText Professional Services team, the company also wanted to simplify administration, improve productivity, and reduce complexity in areas like printing, file access, and device management.
OpenText implemented a DSfW-based integration concept using OpenText eDirectory, Domain Services for Windows, iPrint, Filr, and ZENworks to unify management across the hybrid environment. The result was centralized control of 2,400 users and workstations across more than 100 locations, with a small team of five managing the setup; Sauter also cut network and system administration resources by 50% and reduced software license costs while gaining a more reliable, transparent, and easier-to-use IT environment.
