New York State Homes and Community Renewal Upgrades to OpenText Content Server 10 to Deliver a Solid Platform for the Future

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYS HCR), which consolidates the state’s major housing and community renewal agencies, needed a more stable, scalable ECM platform to support upcoming projects and a database migration from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server. The agency’s goals were to improve performance, reduce administration effort, and make content easier to find across a large repository of documents.

NYS HCR deployed OpenText Content Server 10 in a parallel system and migrated more than 1.5 million documents over about seven months with partner Stellar Services. The upgrade delivered a cleaner UI, faceted search, virtual folders and workflow automation, requiring minimal training while speeding search and access, streamlining processes, and providing a scalable foundation for records management, auto-classification and future initiatives.
