New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority Eases Delivery and Automates Capture, Archival with OpenText

New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority (NHHFA) is a non-profit that promotes and finances affordable housing in New Hampshire. Faced with a paper-heavy, fax-reliant process—including more than 10,000 paper folders and a waiting list that hadn’t been fully updated for years—staff struggled with costly, time-consuming manual processing and the need to validate thousands of applicants for Section 8 rental assistance.

Working with Atticus Consulting, NHHFA deployed OpenText RightFax, Alchemy, and Workflow integrated with Kofax Ascent Capture, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, and Canon scanners to automate capture, indexing, routing, and electronic delivery. The solution eliminated the need for temporary labor, enabled annual waiting-list validation (reducing the list to about 5–6,000 applicants), cut fax and paper costs, improved access across offices, and secured records for disaster recovery and compliance.
