A OpenText Case Study
Community Health Systems faced the challenge of managing and securing digital identities for 280,000 users across a rapidly growing hospital network, while avoiding disruption to patient care. As CHS acquired more hospitals and applications, doctors and staff were forced to juggle multiple logins and manual access requests, creating heavy password issues and delays; the company turned to OpenText Identity Manager (NetIQ) to address the problem.
OpenText, working with its partner GCA, implemented automated workflows, single sign-on, and self-service password and access capabilities to streamline provisioning and support flexible, role-based access across clinical applications. The results were significant: user provisioning time dropped from weeks to about ten minutes, helpdesk tickets were cut in half, and access changes that once took 48–72 hours could now be completed in minutes, improving both staff productivity and satisfaction.
