A OpenText Case Study
Foodstuffs North Island (FSNI), a Kiwi-owned grocery co-operative serving 335 member stores with ~1,900 support staff, faced a labor-intensive, six-step manual invoice process handling millions of documents from about 1,800 suppliers. With volumes growing to 4.5 million invoices annually and a charge-through model that required centralized processing, FSNI sought to reduce costs, improve accuracy and speed, and deliver better service to stores and vendors.
FSNI implemented OpenText Suite for SAP—including Vendor Invoice Management, Invoice Capture Center and Document Access—supported by OpenText Professional Services to digitize invoice receipt through payment. The solution automated up to 90% of incoming documents (1.5M scanned and 3M EDI), eliminated double handling and paper redistribution, reduced errors and storage/courier costs, sped responses to queries, and freed Accounts Payable staff for higher-value work.
