MVV Energie AG, a leading German energy company headquartered in Mannheim, needed faster, more flexible customer communications to win business in a competitive market—especially in key accounts where 2,000–3,000 tailor-made proposals are prepared annually. Existing Word/Access-based templates and manual additions made proposal generation slow, error-prone and costly, constraining the company’s ability to respond quickly to customer needs.

MVV implemented OpenText Communications Center CRM integrated with SAP CRM and Microsoft Office to automate template population (addresses, prices, delivery points) and enable sales to assemble customized letters from 60 templates and 300 text modules with just a few clicks. The solution provides single-click PDF/email delivery, automatic storage and audit trails, low training effort (two days) and high user acceptance—cutting processing effort and costs by about 50% and reducing customer acquisition costs.
