A OpenText Case Study
Brazil’s Federal Prosecution Service (Ministério Público Federal), a 15,000-employee public prosecution body established in 1988, needed to modernize its document-sharing to speed up justice. Prosecutors were hampered by e‑mail size limits, DVDs sent by post and an outdated iFolder setup that lacked mobile support, required IT intervention for permissions, and exposed sensitive data to time-consuming, costly and insecure workflows.
After a successful proof of concept, the ministry rolled out Micro Focus Filr: a secure, user-friendly file hosting solution with mobile access, granular permissions, time-limited links and remote wipe capabilities. Filr centralized data on two on‑premise data centers, simplified IT management, reduced costs and back-office work, and strengthened information security—enabling faster, more agile and safer collaboration across the service.
