Migros Bank automates software testing for banking experts with Micro Focus UFT One

Migros Bank, one of Switzerland’s leading cooperative banks with more than 800,000 customers and 67 branches, needed to insource software testing to ensure its core banking application (Finnova) ran error-free. Management created a 12-person internal testing team of banking experts to handle monthly updates and large quarterly releases, with a mandate to improve quality and eliminate the risk of customer-impacting errors.

The team adopted an end-to-end Micro Focus solution—Application Lifecycle Management, Business Process Testing and UFT One—so non-IT testers could author and run automated regression tests without scripting; Professional Services helped with training and a decision matrix. In nine months they automated about 70 business-process tests (targeting 120 soon and up to 20% of tests long-term), achieved higher release quality with no serious failures across three major releases, and gained faster defect detection, greater transparency and improved testing efficiency.
