Jove Informática, a Brazil-based media intelligence firm that produces digital media tables and advertising analysis, faced the challenge of modernizing a 1990s COBOL-based solution (over four million lines of code) whose Net Express/Dialog System GUI was obsolete. Reliant on outsourced maintenance and constrained by an aging interface, Jove needed to reduce costs, improve developer efficiency, and create a modern, user-friendly UI to reach new customers.

Jove implemented Micro Focus Visual COBOL with Visual Studio and COBOL Server, running a proof-of-concept that enabled legacy screens to interoperate with .NET Windows Forms and ASP.NET for reporting while fully reusing existing business logic.
