Micro Focus Unified Archiving solutions deliver sophisticated disaster recovery, backup, and email archiving

The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) is one of the UK’s largest trade unions, representing about 200,000 members and running offices across the country. PCS faced a major IT challenge moving from GroupWise to Office 365 while minimizing user disruption, preserving large volumes of retained mail, providing easy access to archived messages, and meeting strict security and compliance requirements.

Working with Shrobe Consulting, PCS deployed Micro Focus Retain for Office 365 and Micro Focus Archive Disaster Recovery to centralize secure archiving, nightly backups, and fast recovery. Users were trained on Retain’s web access, older mail was archived (and remains searchable), and several regional mail servers were decommissioned—delivering a smooth migration, faster mailboxes, lower costs and insurance premiums, stronger disaster recovery, and high user satisfaction.
