Vinzenz von Paul Kliniken gGmbH, a group of three medical facilities around Stuttgart (including the 800‑bed Marienhospital), faced strict Catholic data‑protection requirements while clinicians were using consumer cloud services to share sensitive and IP‑rich content. The organization also needed a way to replace time‑consuming, in‑person health and safety briefings with flexible eLearning and wanted to reduce a 2TB GroupWise email footprint to speed backups and disaster recovery.

Working with partner Bechtle, the hospital deployed Micro Focus Filr on‑premise for secure file sharing, Micro Focus Vibe for eLearning, automated recertification workflows and staff car‑sharing, and Micro Focus GroupWise Disaster Recovery plus Retain for archiving. Filr was configured in three days and ~200 users onboarded; the solution secured intellectual property, enabled flexible training and workflows, supported environmental goals, and is expected to halve the mail system to about 1TB—drastically reducing backup/DR time and improving compliance.
