Richardson International, Canada’s largest privately owned agribusiness with 2,500 employees across 90 sites, needed a more flexible, user-friendly way to share files and support a decentralized workforce. Their open-source Plone CMS and FTP-based sharing were difficult to administer, not integrated with GroupWise email, and didn’t support the self-service, on‑premise Dropbox-like solution required for frequent acquisitions and rapid onboarding.

Richardson deployed Micro Focus Vibe (branded internally as “Connect”) integrated with GroupWise and ZENworks to provide secure, self‑provisioning workspaces for employees, partners, and customers. The move cut project-related emails, streamlined collaboration, sped up onboarding with minimal training, lowered operational costs, and improved efficiency and revenue generation.
