Grupo ABRIL, one of Latin America’s largest media and education groups, relied on tightly integrated COBOL, Oracle CRM and e‑commerce systems to run marketing and subscription operations. Slow, error-prone deployments and costly, difficult impact testing threatened campaign success and drove up testing and support costs.

ABRIL implemented Micro Focus (Borland) Silk solutions—Silk Test, TestPartner and Silk Central—to automate end‑to‑end testing, building over 120 automated scripts (90 for CRM and 30 for processes) in five weeks and running tests overnight. The automation cut manual effort, improved coverage and agility, and is expected to reduce test cycle time by 80%, double test coverage, lower operating costs by about 20% and cut support-call costs by roughly 30%, shortening time‑to‑market and reducing deployment issues.
