Geneva Software Co., maker of the Quantum suite for accounting, distribution and manufacturing, supports behavioral and mental healthcare clients who each face unique, state-specific reporting rules. With a 30-year COBOL-based codebase, Geneva could not feasibly custom-build or centrally support bespoke reports for every customer, yet needed a tightly controlled, secure way to let customers run their own reports without changing the core Quantum architecture.

Geneva implemented Micro Focus Relativity to present COBOL data files as a relational source that integrates easily with tools like SAP Crystal, providing read-only access, access controls, and real-time analytics with minimal impact to Quantum. The result: customers can run custom reports themselves, saving time and adding value while Geneva retains data integrity and performance; Micro Focus support has also helped with migrations and uncommon scenarios.
