Metrópolis Seguros Insures their Future with OpenText Document Management, eDOCS Edition (eDOCS DM)

Metrópolis Seguros is a 100% Spanish insurance and reinsurance company with over 70 years in the market that needed to modernize its document and process management. Faced with an obsolete file-access application, growing paper volumes and an online billing initiative, the company needed a scalable, low‑maintenance way to link customer files, policies and claims in its legacy PRIMAS system while reducing continuity risks and response times.

Working with One Way Clear, Metrópolis kept OpenText eDOCS DM as the document manager but replaced direct API coding with a services-based integration layer (SOA/REST) and a new web‑responsive “PRIMAS Document Management” app. The result was full integration of PRIMAS, eDOCS DM, scanning and viewers, faster deployments (first version in two months), reuse of native viewers for 80+ stations, simplified maintenance and up to a 50% reduction in maintenance and development costs, with further integration work underway.
