A OpenText Case Study
Metro Vancouver, the regional district serving 2.1 million residents with about 1,300 staff, faced information overload: documents scattered across network drives made searching, sharing, collaboration and security difficult, and the region needed consistent retention and disposition controls to reduce risk and storage costs.
Metro Vancouver implemented OpenText Content Suite, OpenText Records Management and the Physical Objects module to create a single, secure repository for electronic and physical records, automate classification and retention, and provide version control and audit trails. After training ~1,200 users, the system now manages roughly 2 million documents and 10,000 offsite boxes, delivering faster information retrieval, improved productivity, stronger compliance and reduced risk while enabling better cross‑departmental collaboration.
