A OpenText Case Study
Metro Health Hospital is a 238‑bed acute care osteopathic teaching hospital in Grand Rapids serving over 130,000 patients. The organization struggled with large volumes of paper, fragmented and time‑consuming manual processes, lost paperwork, poor visibility and control, and frustrated staff that needed a faster, more reliable way to manage core administrative and clinical workflows.
Metro Health implemented OpenText MBPM and integrated it with its SQL Server database, automating more than 40 processes and enabling employees to access and submit familiar electronic forms via email or web. Combined with a Lean methodology, this reduced paper use, improved data accuracy and process control, sped response times, saved more than $1 million, cut errors and delays, increased employee satisfaction, and delivered a better patient experience.
