A OpenText Case Study
Mercer is a global leader in HR and financial advice with three divisions—consulting, investments and outsourcing—serving clients across 40 countries with over 20,000 employees. Faced with multiple disparate record‑keeping and functional systems, heavy manual intervention, performance and hardware issues with their existing Appian BPM, and a need for a cost‑effective, lightweight BPM that could integrate aging systems and support low‑cost global service centers, Mercer needed better visibility and automation across long‑running processes.
Mercer implemented OpenText Cordys BOP and OpenText BPM to streamline administration tasks like document management, carrier file transmission, reporting and other core operational workflows, replacing major Appian production apps. The result was higher operational efficiency and scalability—reduced per‑transaction costs, improved labor ratios and accountability, less duplicate data entry and manual work, and the ability to process greater volumes with fewer staff while meeting SLAs.
