Case Study: Memorial Healthcare System achieves centralized, IP-based faxing and eliminates hundreds of machines with OpenText RightFax

A OpenText Case Study

Preview of the Memorial Healthcare System Case Study

Memorial Health System reduces hardware, applies centralized management for growing enterprise using OpenText RightFax IP document exchange

Memorial Health System, a municipally owned Level II trauma center in Colorado Springs with three hospitals and nearly 4,000 staff, was sending and receiving more than 15,000 faxes per week. Reliant on close to 400 isolated fax machines and separate phone lines, the organization faced productivity losses, difficult IT management, and the need for an IP-compatible solution as new facilities adopted VoIP.

Working with Satori Solutions, Memorial implemented OpenText RightFax Enterprise Server and integrated it with Xerox multi‑function devices and Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The deployment consolidated hundreds of fax machines into a centrally managed, IP-based system (two RightFax servers supporting 320 numbers on about 20 lines), improved turnaround and HIPAA-compliant document handling, reduced operating costs and paper use, and positioned the health system for FoIP and future growth.
