Medical Research Data Management Advances Healthcare with OpenText™ Information Hub

Medical Research Data Management (MRDM), a Deventer-based spinoff from Leiden University Medical Centre, collects and reports clinical, financial and patient-outcome data for all Dutch hospitals to enable benchmarking and value-based care. As data volumes, complexity and user demand grew, MRDM found its original BIRT-based reporting could not deliver the speed, flexibility or scalable, user-friendly dashboards required—and commercial alternatives were either functionally lacking or prohibitively priced.

MRDM replaced BIRT with OpenText Information Hub (iHub), implemented with partner ReportSoft, enabling rapid deployment, SSO, personalized dashboards and a reusable analytics framework that now serves over 5,000 users. The solution delivers efficient, cost-effective, scalable analytics and visualization, tightly controls publication and access, supports holistic value-based insights, and has helped reduce complications after colon cancer surgery by more than half over four years while underpinning national adoption and international expansion.
