A OpenText Case Study
ZOLL Medical Corporation’s LifeVest wearable defibrillator requires cardiologist prescriptions and supporting documentation, which historically arrived by fax. As demand grew from about 100–200 faxes a day to roughly 1,600, ZOLL’s small cloud fax vendors became unreliable—resulting in failed or incomplete deliveries, manual failover across multiple providers, and strained IT resources that threatened time‑sensitive SLAs and patient care.
Working with AEC Group, ZOLL deployed OpenText RightFax with RightFax Connect in a hybrid cloud/on‑premises configuration and ported its toll‑free numbers to the service. The solution delivered stable, scalable, HIPAA‑compliant faxing with built‑in high availability, automatic failover, improved reporting and visibility, reduced telco overhead and per‑page costs, and the reliable performance needed to meet SLAs and speed LifeVest fulfillment.
