MEAG switches to electronic files with OpenText

MEAG, the asset manager for Munich Re and ERGO, manages around EUR 13 billion in real estate across regional offices in Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg, holding roughly 25,000 files and more than one million documents. Managing paper tenant and property files was costly, slow, error-prone and exposed the business to loss and version-control issues, and MEAG needed a solution that would tightly integrate with its SAP RE-FX system to modernize processes and improve customer service.

MEAG implemented the OpenText ECM Suite for SAP (including Archive Server, Renditions and Production Imaging), reproducing its existing indexing scheme, digitizing incoming paper, and embedding workflows directly into SAP. Rolled out across three locations to about 150 users, the project centralized electronic files and metadata, enabled simultaneous, process-oriented access for all departments, eliminated document loss, and delivered faster, more accurate customer responses with higher process transparency and quality.
