Deutsche Verbindungsstelle Krankenversicherung Ausland (DVKA), part of the German National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds (GKV-Spitzenverband), provides cross‑border health insurance services for commuters, pensioners and others in more than 40 countries. DVKA faced a need to digitize and integrate its processes to enable automation and relieve mounting pressure to reduce employee workload.
DVKA implemented OpenText Business Process Management to digitize documents, integrate systems and streamline workflows with a user‑friendly interface that encouraged rapid adoption. The automation boosted operational efficiency: about 60 specialist users in the Special Agreement area now complete more than 50,000 transactions per year, markedly increasing productivity and reducing manual effort.
