Johnson Controls, a global leader in automotive interiors, building efficiency and power solutions, faced a major challenge when migrating from a mainframe to a distributed client/server environment: their new PeopleSoft and Oracle applications lacked automated report distribution. The company needed to electronically deliver thousands of critical reports to a worldwide user base, provide optional web access, ensure page-level security, and keep a fast, easy-to-use interface—without changing existing applications.

Johnson Controls selected Open Text’s Vista Plus Suite, which integrated seamlessly with PeopleSoft and Oracle, automatically captured and routed reports, and provided Windows and web clients with page-level security. The deployment created a centralized repository and enterprise standard for reports, delivering streamlined, automated distribution, instant online access, high user acceptance, and easy local printing when needed.
