The company faced the challenge of indexing and organizing very large, continuously changing multilingual document repositories (Italian, English, French, Spanish, Russian) across internet and proprietary databases while delivering continuous indexing, automated classification, strict access controls and fast, conceptually relevant search results.

To meet this need SkyMedia integrated Micro Focus IDOL for unstructured search and analytics and Vertica for high-performance queries. IDOL sped retrieval on a 500,000+ section legal/scientific repository by 99% versus SQL, and Vertica returned complex queries on 600,000 health records in under five seconds (about 5× faster than SQL and producing data‑mining matrices ~20× faster than other relational servers), accelerating business processes, improving result relevancy and unlocking greater value from customer data.
