A OpenText Case Study
Bankers Insurance, a regional agency formed in 1999 with more than 200 insurance professionals across 18 communities in Virginia and North Carolina, needed to modernize faxing after moving to a new agency management system in 2013. Their existing on-premises fax server and physical phone lines were costly, hard to recover in a disaster, and didn’t integrate well with a cloud-based customer portal; IT sought a secure, cloud-based email-fax solution that would simplify administration and improve employee efficiency while meeting encryption and compliance requirements.
Bankers deployed OpenText Fax2Mail, a cloud email-fax service that requires no desktop software, provides industry-standard encryption and redundant data-center availability, and offers centralized user management and detailed fax confirmations. The switch eliminated physical fax lines, long-distance charges and server maintenance (previously about $450/month in phone lines and $1,500/year in software maintenance, roughly $6,900/year), improved reliability, security and disaster recovery, sped up workflows, simplified provisioning of numbers, and freed IT time for other priorities.
