A OpenText Case Study
Independent Health, a not-for-profit health plan based in Buffalo, NY serving nearly 400,000 members, needed to maintain its high-quality customer experience while managing an enormous testing workload—500–1,000 tests weekly and multi-day manual regression cycles that pulled testers away from higher-value activities. The test team sought tools to save time, introduce managed automation, and improve overall testing effectiveness.
Independent Health implemented OpenText Application Lifecycle Management and UFT One, alongside LoadRunner and AppPulse Active, to centralize manual and automated testing, run daily health checks, and track trends. The result: about 70% of large regressions are automated, regression times fell by two thirds, the overall testing window shortened by more than 50%, and testers were freed from routine tasks to focus on more strategic work—supporting the company’s reputation for quality service.
