A OpenText Case Study
Krung Thai Bank (KTB), a state‑owned Thai financial institution, faced a critical challenge when Google announced the end‑of‑life for its Google Search Appliance (GSA). About 10,000 users relied on GSA to find business‑critical documents, so KTB needed a fast, enterprise‑ready software replacement that matched GSA’s functionality, could be customized with local System Integrator support, and had room to expand into new use cases.
After a government procurement, local SI DIS proposed OpenText IDOL, which fit KTB’s hypervisor‑driven infrastructure. A phased “as‑is” migration put the main intranet search live within three months and remaining systems online over the next 3–4 months. The implementation delivered a smooth transition, easier administration, streamlined search workflows and improved UI adoption, and opened opportunities to apply IDOL’s AI‑driven analytics to KTB’s data lake and warehouse.
